What makes them ATS-friendly
The formatting rules are built in, so you can spend your time on the words.
- One column of real textSoftware reads top to bottom. No tables, text boxes or columns to scramble the order.
- Contact details in the bodySome systems skip page headers entirely, so your name and email sit on the page itself.
- Standard section namesSummary, Experience, Education, Skills. The words parsers are built to look for.
- Fonts every computer hasGeorgia, Calibri, Cambria, Arial and Garamond, so nothing swaps when a recruiter opens the file.
- Real bullet listsBuilt with Word's own list styles, which survive copy and paste into online forms.
- A PDF that stays selectableExport from Word or Docs and the text remains text, which is what the scanner needs.

Questions
Will this pass an ATS?
No template can promise a job, and anyone who does is guessing. What we can promise is the format: one column, standard headings and plain text, which is what applicant tracking systems read reliably. The guide included with every template covers the content side, like matching the wording of the job posting.
Do I need Microsoft Word?
No. The files open in Word, in Google Docs (free, in any browser) and in Apple Pages. The Start Here guide shows the exact clicks for each.
Can I change the colors and fonts?
Yes. Everything is a normal Word style. Change the heading color once and every heading updates.
Which paper size do I need?
US Letter for the United States and Canada, A4 for almost everywhere else. Both come in every download.
What if I need two pages?
Keep typing. The layout continues onto a second page with the same spacing and headings.
Can I get a refund?
If a file will not open or something is broken, reply to your receipt email and we will fix it or refund you.
